Behind The Lens episode 242: ‘Excessive warmth and soiled water’


This week on Behind The Lens, the variety of inmates held at The Orleans Justice Heart has surpassed the town’s jail inhabitants cap, sparking questions on the way to enhance releases whereas decreasing bookings — and what the rising jail inhabitants means for the well being of these incarcerated, and for the town of New Orleans.

And for many years, the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola has compelled prisoners to work exterior in fields even in excessive warmth. As this summer season heats up, prisoners have filed an emergency movement asking a federal choose to halt the follow.
