PLAQUEMINES PARISH, La. (WGNO) — The U.S. Coast Guard, Spectrum OpCo, LLC, and the Louisiana Oil Spill Coordinator’s Workplace are responding to an oil and fuel combination launch close to Backyard Island Bay.
Coast Guard officers mentioned the combination was launched in a marsh surroundings close to a Backyard Island Bay manufacturing facility’s properly on Saturday, and an overflight “confirmed the presence of crude oil.”
A Unified Command among the many organizations was fashioned and is working with the Nationwide Oceanic Atmospheric Administration, Louisiana Division of Environmental High quality, Forefront Emergency Administration and different companies on response efforts.
The operator’s oil spill response plan has reportedly been activated.
Coast Guard officers mentioned no accidents or wildlife impacts have been reported.
