Behind the Lens episode 269: ‘They don’t seem to be forgotten’


This week, two St. James Parish residents who not too long ago wrote a chunk for the Lens on their households’ deep roots within the area and how native histories like their very own are threatened by the oil, gasoline, and petrochemical industries. Barbara Washington and Gail LeBoeuf are co-founders and co-directors of Inclusive Louisiana, an area group devoted to safeguarding the residents of St. James Parish and surrounding areas from the detrimental results of business air pollution, as business strikes to take over land that features ancestral burial websites.
