JEFFERSON PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A girl was killed in a Jefferson Parish automobile crash Saturday, Sept. 13.
In keeping with the Louisiana State Police, 49-year-old Selenta James of Metairie died within the crash. James was driving a 2022 Nissan Murano on the Causeway Boulevard exit from I-10 west when she went off the roadway and into the grass. A trooper noticed the car and tried to make contact with James, who seemed to be experiencing a medical emergency.
Whereas the trooper tried to achieve entry, James’s car abruptly accelerated ahead and struck a concrete assist pillar of the Causeway Boulevard overpass.
James was unrestrained and suffered critical accidents. She was transported to an area hospital the place she later died.
