NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Thursday, April 24, is the primary day of the 2025 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Competition.
As festivalgoers prepare to observe artists like Pearl Jam, Lil Wayne & The Roots and Kacey Musgraves take the stage, officers with the Metropolis of New Orleans are reminding residents about security and visitors measures.
Metropolis officers mentioned that about 211 New Orleans Police Division officers are assigned to be staffed on the pageant every day, in addition to full staffing within the first and third districts close to the Fairgrounds neighborhoods.
Louisiana State Police and Troop NOLA may also be totally staffed through the pageant.
