Suspect arrested in Bogalusa homicide investigation

BOGALUSA, La. (WGNO) — A suspect was arrested on Thursday, March 27, in reference to a Bogalusa homicide investigation that started again in January.

In accordance with the Bogalusa Police Division, a capturing incident occurred on Jan. 2 and resulted within the demise of Ryan Simmons, of Franklinton.

An investigation reportedly confirmed Jerry Charles Baker Jr. as a suspect. Upon his arrest, he was allegedly discovered with a stolen firearm and legend medicine, leading to further costs raised towards him.

Baker is accused of second-degree homicide, unlawful use of weapons and possessions of weapons by a convicted felon.
