Lady arrested in reference to deadly Jefferson Parish hit-and-run crash

JEFFERSON PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A Westwego girl has been arrested in reference to a hit-and-run crash that left a pedestrian useless in Jefferson Parish.

On Aug. 15, the Louisiana State Police reported that troopers responded to the crash on Jefferson Freeway close to Claiborne Courtroom round 11:45 p.m.

LSP officers mentioned an preliminary investigation confirmed that 37-year-old Sue Ella Cechman was attempting to cross Jefferson Freeway at Claiborne Courtroom when a automotive driving west hit her and allegedly left the scene.

Cechman was taken to a hospital, the place she later died.

LSP officers described the automotive believed to be concerned within the crash as a dark-colored sedan with potential harm to the entrance.

On Saturday, Aug. 24, LSP officers mentioned they recognized 36-year-old Britney Holmes because the suspect.

In accordance with the LSP, Holmes allegedly hit Cechman whereas driving a Nissan Sentra and “took actions to hide proof of the crash.”

Holmes was arrested and faces prices of manslaughter, obstruction of justice and hit-and-run driving.
