AND BRIGHT. NOW THAT THE LOBBY IS ALL LIT UP FOR THE HOLIDAY SEASON. YEAH, THE LOBBY LIGHTING AN ANNUAL TRADITION GOING STRONG FOR MORE THAN 80 YEARS. The Roosevelt Lodge in New Orleans held its annual Foyer Lighting ceremony Tuesday. The foyer of the lodge was illuminated with greater than 112,000 lights, 1,600 toes of garland and 4,000 glass ornaments. The annual custom, which started in 1938, was led by jazz trumpeter Kermit Ruffins and Buddy the Elf from the Saenger Theater’s manufacturing of “Elf The Musical.” The occasion marks the beginning of the vacation season, drawing locals and guests to expertise the festive transformation of the historic lodge.
