Three arrested after medication, weapons found at Covington dwelling: STPSO

COVINGTON, La. (WGNO) — Three persons are in custody going through drug, gun and animal cruelty expenses in Covington.

In keeping with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Workplace, on Aug. 8, deputies with the Proactive Enforcement Unit arrested 19-year-old Christopher Havers.

Havers was charged with possession of:

  • Greater than 2,600 Fentanyl tablets
  • Two stolen firearms
  • A semi-automatic rifle
  • Drug paraphernalia together with packaging materials and scales

By means of an investigation, detectives mentioned they discovered a video of Havers allegedly feeding a duck fentanyl tablets close to a hospital.

This reportedly led to an arrest warrant being issued for felony animal cruelty. Upon arriving at his dwelling, Havers allegedly ran away however was caught quickly after.

Throughout a search of the house, deputies reported discovering 5 firearms, of which two have been reported stolen from St. Tammany and Tangipahoa parishes. In addition they discovered:

  • Roughly 370 fentanyl tablets
  • 38 Gabapentin capsules
  • One bottle of Codeine
  • Two bottles of Promethazine
  • 53 Suboxone strips
  • Small quantities of psilocybin mushrooms
  • THC oil and marijuana
  • One THC vape pen
  • Two scales containing drug residue

Havers was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Heart on expenses of:

  • Possession of Schedule II with the intent to distribute
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Possession of a firearm within the presence of a managed harmful substance
  • Two counts of possession of a stolen firearm
  • Possession of Schedule I
  • Possession of Schedule IV
  • Possession of a legend drug
  • Cruelty to animals; easy and aggravated

Two others have been discovered inside on the time of the search. 41-year-old Heather Hyde was arrested for possession of a legend drug and two counts of possession of Schedule 1.

23-year-old Ethan Hyde was arrested on expenses of

  • Possession of a legend drug
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Possession of a firearm within the presence of a managed harmful substance
  • Two counts of possession of a stolen firearm
  • Possession of Schedule I

“These people have been clearly as much as no good,” Sheriff Randy Smith mentioned.
