HOW MUCH THAT WE CAN GET IN OUR UPCOMING RAIN CHANCES COMING UP IN A FEW MINUTES. RANDI AND ERIC, WE JUST GOT THE LATEST OUTLOOK FROM NOAA ABOUT THIS YEAR’S HURRICANE SEASON, WHICH, BY THE WAY, IS ABOUT TWO WEEKS AWAY. WHAT ARE THE BIG TAKEAWAYS HERE? WELL, RANDY, IT LOOKS LIKE IT LOOKS LIKE THE NUMBERS HERE ARE IN OUR FAVOR. FORECASTING A BELOW AVERAGE HURRICANE SEASON THIS YEAR. THE OFFICIAL NUMBERS 8 TO 14 NAMED STORMS, 3 TO 6 OF THOSE COULD BECOME HURRICANES. AND 1 TO 3 OF THOSE HURRICANES BECOMING MAJOR HURRICANES. THAT’S CATEGORY THREE OR HIGHER. NOW, THE REASON WHY THE NOAA IS FORECASTING A BELOW AVERAGE HURRICANE SEASON THIS YEAR IS DUE TO THE ONSET OF EL NINO DEVELOPING ACROSS THE EQUATORIAL EASTERN PACIFIC. AND USUALLY WHAT THAT DOES IS FOR THE EASTERN PACIFIC, A LOT MORE FAVORABLE CONDITIONS FOR THEM, FOR A LOT MORE TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION BECAUSE OF WARM WATERS AND ALSO LOW WIND SHEAR. BUT FOR US IN THE ATLANTIC BASIN, WHICH IT DOES INCLUDE THE GULF AND ALSO THE CARIBBEAN, USUALLY WHAT WILL HAVE IS STRONGER WIND SHEAR, VERTICAL WIND SHEAR IN THE UPPER LEVELS OF THE ATMOSPHERE. AND THAT CREATES MORE HOSTILE CONDITIONS FOR TROPICAL DEVELOPMENT, LEADING TO LESS NAMED STORMS, HURRICANES AND MAJOR HURRICANES. NOW, OF COURSE, THAT DOESN’T MEAN THAT WE WON’T GET HIT THIS YEAR. WE CAN’T EXACTLY TELL YOU WHERE THEY’RE GOING TO GO OR WHERE THEY’RE GOING TO DEVELOP. SO WHAT YOU WANT TO DO IS JUST PREPARE LIKE YOU WOULD FOR ANY HURRICANE SEASON AND KEEP IT HERE TO WDSU. WE’LL KEEP YOU UPDATED AS HURRICANE SEASON OFFICIALLY STARTS ON JUNE 1ST. RANDI AND ERIC, YOU SAID EARLIER REALLY ONLY TAKES ONE. SO WDSU IS MAKING SURE THAT YOU ARE PREPARED THIS STORM SEASON. LEARN ABOUT THE NEW TECH THAT’S BEING UTILIZED TO TRACK HURRICANES, INSURANCE CHANGES, AND THE BEST PRACTICES TO PROTECT YOU, YOUR FAMILY, AND YOUR PROPERTY. OUR SPECIAL G

Louisiana State Treasurer and U.S. Senate candidate John Fleming has challenged Congresswoman Julia Letlow to a few televised debates forward of the runoff election. “Louisianans deserve trustworthy, substantive debates about the way forward for our state and our nation,” stated Fleming. “This race is just too necessary to be determined by dishonest tv adverts, darkish cash assaults, and political operatives working behind the scenes.”Fleming says voters are entitled to direct solutions from Letlow about severe issues surrounding her marketing campaign funds, her report in Congress, and the surface political forces making an attempt to affect the race. Incumbent Invoice Cassidy, who was looking for a 3rd time period in workplace, misplaced his seat after Letlow and Fleming each superior to the June runoff.Letlow obtained 44.84% of the votes, whereas Fleming obtained 28.2%. The runoff election is scheduled for June 27.
